Block paving

Posted on January 31st, 2011 by johns-admin-dw  |  Comments Off on Block paving

Hello good afternoon welcome back to the blog today at like to write a brief but small article on the subject of block paving I would like to give you a brief outline as to how block paving is carried out the first of all there are many many different types of block paving on the market. The first thing to do is to choose the type and texture of your block paving there are many many builders merchants in around the Essex area with a plentiful supply of styles and design.

Just recently to speak work… Carried out a very large installation of over 100 m² of paving this was done to the front and side and rear of semi detached bungalow in Southend-on-Sea Essex first of all we had to bringing the help of a large machinery . The first step is to remove all the topsoil to the correct depth of over 10 inches this was carried out with the machine with the aid of a grading bucket once all the soil was excavated to the correct depth it was piled up in the middle awaiting removal by our subcontractors.

When the subcontractors remove the waste from sites it has to be correctly disposed of all this waste that has come out the old driveway which was a mixture of soil aggregates concrete bricks and hold remaining garden slaps will be disposed of by local council depot.

After the removal of the soil within backfield all of the surrounding area with an aggregate call type I initially successful of aggregate you can use as it is strong and durable once all of the type I is spread out evenly is then tracked down by the machine this compresses the type I into the old soil makes a strong sub base any soft areas around the working area which is soft to the foot will be to get out and backfield with concrete.

Once this process is complete we can move on to the laying of the block paving to all the external edges these will be laid on sharp sand and cement and bedded or the force will be created from one end to the other with the aid of the water level the water level is still the most accurate way of transferring one level from one point to the other even by today’s standards.

When the external edges are in position within move on to excavating the soak/away the purpose of this is so that any surface water that falls onto the driveway will run into it and be harvested into the ground in average driveway in a downpour of rain can collect in the region of approximately 60 gallons of water so it’s very important to make sure that the necessary arrangements are put in place to collect the surface water.

Once the other paragraph stages complete within move on to screening the complete driveway this is consists of using sharp sand and it is pulled down but when into the driveway of the highest point to the lowest point this will create the necessary falls it is a very time-consuming part of the job but it is imperative that his carried out accurately and correctly.

The next parts of the project will be to start the laying of the paving for this she started the corner and work your way out to the outside edges of the driveway as the pavings meets the edge borders any gaps are filled in with cuts they keep taking the time to this entry if anyone can John can

Welcome to the up date on the progress of this particular extension in progress in Southend-on-Sea Essex. As you can clearly see the installation is completed on the roof of this builder and I think you’ll agree that they contrast of day old matching tiles blends in well and completes the finished item.

Should you look closer at the picture you will clearly say that we have installed to large roof windows that allows natural light to flow in to the recently extended attic carried out by us also installing the new Brown double glazed PVC windows complex the final build along with this move render finish at the final touch of class to it as well as you can clearly say it won’t be much longer before the removal of the scaffolding and this will show clearly the full-size and extent of this period works was carried out by us from start to finish is included with the foundation work and necessary discharge of sewer and rainwater connection to the necessary services. This project was fully inspected by the local building surveyor and Southend-on-Sea Bor Council there was approximately 15 visits from start to finish we have supplied the council with all the relevant documentation of all electrical and gas compliance regulations.
